KARSKI IN A CAMP

BLACKMAILING AND ITS PREVENTION

The Directorate of Civil Resistance (KWC) declares: “The Polish society, despite being itself a victim of great terror, is observing with horror and deep compassion the murder of the remains of the Jewish population in Poland by the Germans. The Polish society's protestations against this crime have reached the entire free world, and the Polish community has helped the Jews who escaped the ghettos or death camps so much that the occupier declared a death penalty for any Poles helping Jews in hiding. There have been, however, individuals with a criminal background, deprived of honor or conscience, who have created for themselves a source of revenue through blackmailing Poles who have been helping the Jews in hiding as well as the Jews themselves. The KWC is warning that blackmail incidents of this sort will be punished with greatest legal severity, as far as possible right now, and most certainly in the future.
